Voltalia sells a 420MW solar project in Brazil

Voltalia has transferred ownership of a 420MW solar project in Brazil to Newave Energia, a collaboration involving Gerdau and Newave FIP.

Newave Energia has not only acquired this solar project but also entrusted Voltalia with the responsibility of constructing and maintaining the electrical infrastructure.

These solar projects, including the 420MW one, are part of the Arinos complex, situated in the state of Minas Gerais in southeastern Brazil.

The Arinos complex, with a total potential capacity of over 1.8GW, has been fully developed by Voltalia, with the divestment of this particular project being a part of it.

Furthermore, Voltalia has ambitious plans to sell more than 100MW of projects, along with providing construction and maintenance services, not only in Brazil but also in other countries by the end of the year.

Chief Executive Officer of Voltalia, Sébastien Clerc, said “The success of the Arinos complex demonstrates our ability to develop high-quality sites.”

“This developer capability feeds into our portfolio of sites to be built on our behalf, while enabling our partners to contribute to the growth of renewable energy.”

“We are delighted to partner with Newave Energia.”
