Helios Nordic Energy has entered into binding agreements to transfer all outstanding shares to SunMind, a subsidiary of the French energy corporation Vinci.

Established in 2019 by Andreas Tunbjer, Magnus Rahm, and Johan Lundin, Helios was founded with the aim of developing large-scale solar power projects in Sweden. Since its establishment, the team has established a robust and efficient development platform, leading to numerous transactions with prominent tier 1 investors. Around 1 gigawatt peak (GWp) of solar PV projects have been sold, and approximately 300 megawatt peak (MWp) of ready-to-build projects have been transferred to investors.

Currently, Helios operates in Sweden, Finland, and Norway, with an extensive pipeline of photovoltaic (PV) and battery energy storage system (BESS) projects.

Chief executive of Helios, Andreas Tunbjer, commented “We are very proud of the journey we have made with Helios. Through determination and a very strong commitment from our team we have built trust among investors, and we have been one of the pioneers introducing a new energy production source at scale to the Nordic energy mix.”

“And now, we are very excited to enter the next chapter by becoming a part of SunMind and the Vinci group. With their support we will be able to strengthen our capabilities and accelerate our business even further.”

The original founders and existing management will retain their positions following the conclusion of the deal. During the transaction process, the sellers received guidance from Carnegie Investment Bank and EY Corporate Finance, while Setterwalls Advokatbyrå and BAHR served as legal advisors.

The finalization of the transaction is contingent upon approval from the Swedish authority ISP regarding Foreign Direct Investment (FDI).
