Sonnedix seizes 118MW of Italian solar energy

A portfolio of 118MW photovoltaic projects in Italy from Graziella Holding and other minority sellers has been acquired by solar energy manufacturer Sonnedix.

Two solar PV projects, Sonnedix Cagliari (69.5 MW) and Sonnedix Nuoro (48.3 MW), both on the island of Sardinia, are included in the portfolio.

Both are at the ready-to-build stage and should begin operating in the second half of 2023 or the first half of 2024, respectively.

They will profit from a feed-in tariff from Gestore dei Servizi Energetici once they are constructed.

“This acquisition demonstrates our long-term commitment to the Italian market”, said Axel Thiemann, CEO of Sonnedix, who added, “and to pushing the energy transition forward.”

“It’s a very exciting moment in the industry, and we have all intentions to become a true leader in this transition, expanding our presence in the country, and across other OECD markets”.

Approximately 1.6GW of Sonnedix’s total installed capacity in Italy is made up of 293MW of operational plants and over 1.3GW of planned new construction.
