Ryse Energy is backed by RWE

A $15 million fundraising round for Ryse Energy, a producer of small wind turbines, was spearheaded by RWE.

The growth funding round was spearheaded by RWE Energy Transition Investments, an investment arm of RWE Supply & Trade.

Ryse Energy, which has marketed and built more than 4000 small turbines for customers, will utilise the money to expand its technology offerings, explore new international markets, and keep growing its energy-as-a-service business model.

Fresh markets Ryse are focusing on are North America, where community electricity and replacing diesel are important areas of attention, and Africa, where strategic priorities include energy access and powering vital infrastructure like hospitals and telephone lines.

To meet present and future demand, the organisation will expand its hiring efforts internationally.

Additionally, Ryse Energy will make investments in its technologies to certify them for a number of target markets and increase its manufacturing capacity in key regions.

In the USA, the UAE, and India, additional manufacturing locations are being considered.

In addition to producing small wind turbine technologies, Ryse also offers a variety of other renewable energy systems, such as solar and energy storage.

With sales offices in the US, Europe, the UAE, and India, it has factories in the UK and Spain.

The renewable energy systems from Ryse Energy can be installed as independent technologies, as grid-connected or off-grid energy storage systems, or as specialised and dependable hybrid renewable solutions.

The business operates in a number of industries, including decarbonizing vital infrastructure such as telecom and oil and gas networks, marine and agricultural applications, as well as community power for rural electrification.

Managing Director & Head of RWE Energy Transition Investments, Costas Papamantellos, said “We believe that Ryse Energy has the potential to be a major force for good in reducing greenhouse gas emission in remote locations, and providing reliable and sustainable energy access to the over one billion people who currently do not have access globally.”

“We look forward to working with the Ryse Energy and supporting its growth and expansion.”

CEO and Founder of Ryse Energy, Alistair Munro, added “This investment will enable us to accelerate our growth and expand our product offering, while continuing to deliver innovative decentralised renewable energy systems to our customers around the world, at the same time reducing greenhouse gas emissions and client energy costs.”
