R.Power has secured 115 megawatts of hybrid solar and battery storage capacity in Germany, marking a major step in the company’s European growth strategy. The success came in the country’s latest EEG Innovation Auction, which supports projects combining renewable generation with storage technologies.
Two of R.Power’s subsidiaries received 20-year contracts from Germany’s Federal Network Agency under the Renewable Energy Sources Act (EEG). The support scheme ensures predictable returns by compensating developers for the difference between their bid price and the average monthly spot market electricity rate.
The model is designed to promote innovative renewable energy systems that can stabilise the grid and improve the integration of intermittent power sources such as solar and wind.
Chief Executive and Founder Przemek Pięta said: “Winning Germany’s EEG Innovation Auction confirms the competitiveness and maturity of our hybrid PV + BESS model. This success strengthens our footprint in one of Europe’s most advanced renewable markets and reflects our long-term vision of integrating solar generation with storage as a foundation of the future power system.”
R.Power said its new projects will deliver clean, flexible and reliable energy to the German grid, enhancing system resilience and supporting the transition to a low-carbon energy mix.
Germany’s EEG Innovation Auction scheme has become a key mechanism in accelerating the shift toward renewable power, particularly hybrid systems that combine generation with energy storage. The country aims to expand renewable sources to meet over 80% of electricity demand by 2030, with storage technologies viewed as essential to balancing supply and demand.
R.Power’s entry into this market aligns with broader European ambitions to enhance energy independence and achieve climate neutrality, amid growing investment in grid-scale batteries across the continent.
