Proteus Power, a recently founded renewable energy company, has begun the construction of three solar projects in Alberta, Canada, totaling 234MW.
Together with the projects, 97MW of battery storage will be located.
Additionally, in its first target regions of Texas, Arizona, Nevada, Utah, Colorado, New Mexico, and Alberta, Canada, the developer is assessing more than 30 renewable energy projects.
The Woodlands, Texas, is now home to Proteus’ US headquarters.
Proteus Power aims to design and build over 3GW of solar, wind, and battery energy storage projects in North America. The company is led by industry professionals and has financial support from a leading global clean energy investor, Pelion Green Future.
The key to the developer’s approach is creating “extraordinary assets” that will enable the business and its partners to finance bankable renewable energy projects that are well situated to land long-term power purchase agreements with corporate or industrial buyers.
Proteus administers the whole project value chain, offering co-investors high-quality projects, off-takers attractive PPAs, and the landowners it collaborates with to construct projects long-term and predictable financial returns.
CEO Mike Lambros leads the company’s management team, he said “We have assembled a tremendous team with an invaluable network and expertise and are very excited to partner with Pelion Green Future to deliver an excellent portfolio of renewable energy projects.”
