Multi-GW solar pipeline targeted by German JV

Galileo and Enviria, two European solar energy producers, have teamed together to build utility-scale ground-mounted solar power facilities throughout Germany with a multi-GW pipeline in the next five years as their goal.

For landowners, local governments, and grid operators all around Germany, Galileo Enviria Solar “positions itself as a versatile and trustworthy partner.”

The new solar player will handle all aspect of solar project development, from planning and finance to implementation and management of utility-scale solar plants.

There are 25 people on the company’s staff.

The JV wants to add 1GW or more more worth of solar power projects per year to its pipeline.

The joint venture is “ideally prepared” to customise projects to meet local demands in”full respect” environmental considerations and involving all stakeholders at an early stage of development.

Galileo Enviria Solar added that the projects will provide electricity at prices significantly lower than those seen in the present market while also directly benefiting the local community.

Enviria’s founder and CEO, Melchior Schulze Brock, said “Any company that wants to contribute to the German energy transition needs two things.”

“On the one hand, it needs an understanding of the local idiosyncrasies: the needs of the communities, the requirements of national guidelines and regulations, and a robust network of partners and suppliers.”

“That’s what Enviria brings to the table. On the other hand, you need to be able to zoom out and take the broad perspective beyond national borders, beyond solar, and look at the wider European energy transition.”

“Galileo, with its pan-European, competence-driven multi-technology approach, offers that key complementarity. That’s what makes this joint venture such a natural match.”
