Role
To provide accounting oversight and leadership across all Funds and regulated investment business.
The Ideal Applicant will be a qualified accountant who has a hands-on approach. The ability to understand the commercial implications and contribute to investment decisions, whilst overseeing all financial reporting and risk is critical.
- Responsibility for leading and managing the finance function at group level and providing oversight of the outsourced accounting providers.
- Providing financial analysis on new acquisitions and support in the preparation of investment papers for committee.
- Provide operational/accounting support such as performance analytics on the assets as required. Lead by the commercial team, providing oversight/first review.
- Provide financial oversight of NAV/ SPV’s/DevCo’s, with direct access to their financial systems, especially in relation to the interim and annual accounts.
- Preparation of annual forecast and management committee reports.
- Orchestrate and provide oversite of the financial, audit and tax reporting across the group.
- Maintain good relationships with the investors and act as a point of contact on financial matters.
- Support in future equity raises.
- Support in future debt raises. Manage the existing the fund loan relationships ie revolving credit facilities.
- Assume some ad hoc corporate responsibilities such as coordinating the company’s advisers with regards to legal, insurance, HR, payroll and pensions.
- Oversight of cashflow and debt tenors (debt facility compliance managed by the commercial team).
Fund accounting Oversight
- Supporting quarterly bank reporting and associated cash management within Fund structures.
- Overseeing responses to ad hoc queries on financial performance of funds.
- In co-ordination with Fund Accountants acting as lead contact with Fund tax advisor on VAT, tax returns & accounting disclosures.
- Supporting the day-to-day compliance and reporting of project companies including review of accounting performance and comparison against forecasts.
- Responsibility for delivery of quarterly dividend/distribution forecasts for all Funds.
Required Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
- Accounting qualification; ACA, CIMA, AC
- Minimum 12 years PQE
- Experience of listed and unlisted renewables or infrastructure fund structures
- Experience of leading accounting workstreams on restructuring/structuring of existing/new funds in both the UK and Europe
- Experience of reporting and overseeing Net Asset Value calculations, Interim and Full Year financial statements
- Strong excel skills, including ability to prepare/oversee preparation of multi-year cash flow projections
- Experience of reporting accounting matters to Fund Board’s
- Experience of managing a team, including qualified fund accountants
- European fund experience preferred but not essential
