Environmental approvals for a solar pipeline obtained by Opdenergy

All of Opdenergy’s renewable energy projects in Spain that are now under construction, or in the planning stages, have secured environmental impact permits.

The overall capacity of the projects is 1.146GW, of which 244MW are pre-construction projects and 902MW are projects that are currently under development.

Five provinces are home to the projects.

• Six projects totaling 331 MW are planned for Cuenca;
• Eight projects totaling 302 MW are planned for Zaragoza;
• Five projects worth 244 MW are planned for Zamora;
• Three projects totaling 131 MW are planned for Badajoz;
• Two projects totaling 96 MW are planned for Teruel;
• And one project worth 42 MW is planned for Ciudad Real.

Opdenergy completed this milestone before the deadline of January 25, 2023.

CEO of Opdenergy, Luis Cid, stated “Obtaining these new permits in Spain will allow us to move forward with our business plan while economically boosting the local communities where the projects are located and promoting the introduction of more renewable energy in the Spanish energy mix.”
