The collaboration between BlueFloat Energy and Renantis has secured exclusive agreements with Crown Estate Scotland to develop the Sinclair and Scaraben innovation projects.
This achievement comes after a successful bidding process in the recent innovation and targeted oil & gas leasing round (INTOG).
As part of the phased delivery of the Broadshore project, located 47km north of Fraserburgh, the two floating offshore windfarms with a capacity of 99.5MW each will now be developed.
The Sinclair and Scaraben projects aim to explore and implement advanced foundation technologies, fabrication works, and mooring systems.
The goal is to maximize opportunities for the Scottish supply chain, stimulate local investment, and create job opportunities.
This INTOG bid success adds to the partnership’s existing portfolio of ScotWind projects, which already includes the Bellrock project with a capacity of 1.2GW, the Broadshore project with 900MW, and the collaborative development of the 1GW Stromar project with Orsted.
