Copenhagen Infrastructure Partners (CIP) has successfully concluded the fundraising for a renewable infrastructure fund, securing €1 billion in commitments, as well as an extra €200 million in co-investments.
The CI Green Credit Fund I (CI GCF I) and CIP’s latest bioenergy fund, CI Advanced Bioenergy Fund I (CI ABF I), have garnered support from investors spanning the Nordics, Europe, and the Asia Pacific region.
The investor base encompasses institutional investors, primarily pension funds, life insurance companies, sovereign wealth funds, family offices, asset managers, and corporate investors.
CI GCF I offers debt financing with subordinate risk characteristics to renewable energy ventures globally, playing a role in the transition to cleaner power markets.
It concentrates on supplying private project finance debt with subordinate risk features to assist renewable energy projects in Europe, North America, and selected areas in the Asia Pacific region.
The fund’s primary emphasis lies in direct investments, though it also possesses the capacity to engage in risk-sharing transactions. The fund’s main projects target both existing (brownfield) and new (greenfield) renewable energy infrastructure initiatives.
