Copenhagen Infrastructure Partners (CIP) and Myrsky Energia (Myrsky) have announced a collaboration to develop over 1800MW of onshore wind power in Finland.
Through this partnership, Finland aims to become a frontrunner in the European energy transition and make significant progress towards its goal of achieving carbon neutrality by 2035, according to CIP.
This strategic alliance aligns with CIP’s approach of investing in projects that bring about substantial advancements in scale and speed of development necessary to meet ambitious government targets.
In addition to contributing to Finland’s commitment to achieving net zero emissions, the wind power portfolio will enhance energy security, stimulate local economies, and create employment opportunities, resulting in increased tax revenues for the communities involved.
Notably, this investment by CIP represents their first foray into onshore wind power projects in the Nordic region.
