Econergy is an international IPP (independent power producer) of utility-scale renewable energy projects. They develop, own and operate utility-scale renewable projects across Europe.
Econergy had an ambition to secure development pipeline across Europe and within highly competitive countries including UK, Spain, Romania & Poland. The challenge was the lack of teams in new geographies across Northern Europe.
Adding to the complexity of requirements, Econergy had no key personnel, offices, or a website and a very small window of opportunity to take advantage of the European wind & solar development market, before continuously changing subsidies diminshed returns.
Critical to quick and effective results was supporting Econergy’s planning processes at the earliest stages, to create and deliver a meaningful organisational structure, capable of delivering a full development strategy.
With planning key to supporting a new business, InfraBe undertook in-depth research, leveraging their extensive network of renewable energy professionals and local market contacts, to map the success achieved by competitors across Northern Europe. Research was extended to consider the comparative merits of UK and Northern Europe, and subsequent market penetration required, to focus attention in the right areas, first time.
Market mapping research resulted in both highlighting the best geographies to target initially and in identifying their best professionals with whom to engage.
InfraBe secured a Country Head for UK and 3 development professionals within 3 weeks of initial instruction. This formula was quickly replicated across Spain, Poland and Romania. 8 months later, InfraBe had helped secure 5+ GW of solar and wind projects. This success was made possible by securing the top 1% of market professionals.
Econergy, 12 months later, closed an IPO, is well-known across the market and is entering the EPC space. InfraBe continues to support build the business and has now recruited 12+ professionals within finance, technical, Legal and construction.
These results would not have been possible without early-stage planning and structure advice, significant market knowledge, networks, research and a clear understanding of Econergy’s purpose and culture. That’s what we delivered. We look forward to continuing to support Econergy’s future ambitions.

InfraBe were highly recommended for their ability to hand pick the very best talent across the UK renewable energy market. We retained them to build out a renewable energy development team which included 3 senior appointments. Within three weeks, they completed the assignment, exceeding our expectations assembling a very well-balanced team. They managed the full process including a job description, salary benchmarking and critical advice on employment contracts, going above and beyond at every stage. We look forward to partnering with them on future assignments.
