Helios, in a joint venture with Equitix, co-founded Bio Capital Limited in 2018 as a platform for investments in the Anaerobic Digestion sector in the UK. Bio Capital’s portfolio includes gas to grid and electricity generation plants that utilize food waste and agricultural feedstock.
After considerable portfolio growth, Bio Capital had ambitions to build a senior management team targeting a CEO and CFO initially. InfraBe were retained exclusively due to our extensive experience across waste-to-energy and Anaerobic digestion.
In an extremely complex asset class, the profile required an extensive senior management experience and specific Anaerobic Digestion experience. Only an industry leader with significant and proven experience and successful record would fit the brief.
Some might say needle in a haystack, we say, no problem.
Research was integral to achieving a positive outcome. InfraBe’s market research team constructed a list of companies operating in the chosen sectors, pinpointing management teams. The result was a long-list of 10 professionals, engaged by InfraBe directly and followed up with initial interviews. The final shortlist comprised three highly regarded industry figures, delivering choice to Bio Capital.
Peter Sharpe, a wonderfully talented CEO, was secured by InfraBe because of is extensive anaerobic digestion and exceptional management experience, having built multiple successful teams.
InfraBe hired a further 5 individuals, which included a CFO, Financial controller and operation director. This success has led to a continuing partnership with Bio Capital.
“They partnered with us form the beginning of our investment journey. They strategically helped us build out our organisation chart but also offered great input into the skill sets required and executed with perfection. Their passion for the sector is infectious and no doubt a key component when taking our roles to market.”
