Aukera Energy gets approval for UK solar farm

Aukera Energy, a prominent player in the renewable energy sector, has been granted approval for UK Solar Farm.

Construction is set to commence next year on a new solar farm located near Fishburn in County Durham, following a unanimous approval from the County Council’s planning committee.

The West House solar initiative, boasting a 41MW installed capacity, is poised to generate sufficient clean energy to supply approximately 20,000 households.

Developed in collaboration with Locogen and Livos Renewables, Aukera will be responsible for overseeing the project through its construction and operational phases.

Aukera’s Development Director, Richard Hillam, said “this is the third consent for our UK business in as many months and comes on the back of our successful equity capital raise which will help to deliver this and other projects into operation over the next 18-24 months.”

This follows the recent news that Aukera successfully secured fresh equity capital, garnering substantial support from its majority shareholder, AtlasInvest, and welcoming new investors like Reggeborgh, along with other highly experienced players in the renewable energy sector, who have made substantial commitments to Aukera.

Aukera’s primary focus lies in the planning, building, and management of wind, solar, and battery projects throughout Europe.

At present, Aukera is actively engaged in the development of an extensive 7.5 GW portfolio of solar, wind, and battery storage projects in the United Kingdom, Germany, Italy, and Romania. By the year 2026, it anticipates having 1.5 GW of assets either under construction or already operational.
