Peregrine Energy Solutions, a US-based clean energy platform, has partnered with the Six Nations of the Grand River Development Corporation (SNGRDC) under a memorandum of understanding.
The collaboration aims to develop several gigawatt-sized utility-scale storage assets with high yield potential.
The SNGRDC serves as the investment and development arm for Canada’s largest First Nations community, prioritizing economic self-sufficiency while respecting the values of the Six Nations Community.
Peregrine will lead the development and management of these projects, receiving consultation, advice, and investment support from the SNGRDC.
The President & Chief Executive of the SNGRDC expressed how the battery investments in their community align with their focus on promoting the clean energy transition and generating value for future generations.
Peregrine Energy Solutions has already established a 7GW pipeline in multiple US markets, securing site control and premium earning potential through its proprietary prospecting method.
Vice president of origination for Peregrine, Ryan Scalise, said “The Peregrine team is grateful to have the support and trust of the SNGRDC as we aggressively pursue greenfield battery energy storage systems and renewable energy investments in the Ontario market.”
“I am excited to work with the SNGRDC as our pipeline continues to grow with opportunities to develop and manage assets which bring stability to renewable energy markets, while potentially generating value for our stakeholders.”
