Qualitas Energy, an investment platform, has purchased two wind farms in Germany with a combined 80MW capacity.
The projects include a greenfield wind project in Blumberg as well as a repowered wind farm close to Hamburg.
After reaching an agreement with about 570 shareholders, Qualitas Energy Germany has completed the acquisition of about 90% of the Apensen wind farm, which will be repowered.
The capacity of the wind farm will rise after the repowering.
The company now has 50 wind power projects in Germany as a result of these two developments.
Around 350MW of the 1600MW in wind projects under development are made up of operational assets.
Investment Director at Qualitas Energy Deutschland, Niklas Hinz, said “Our fund Q-Energy V (QE V) continues to invest in German and international renewable energy projects and reinforces our commitment to the transition to a decarbonised economy.”
“We will acquire more wind farms with a focus on repowering and significantly expand our portfolio of greenfield projects.”
